  1. Try the Nebraska Brewing Company – bronze medal for their Melange a Trois at GABF.

  2. Holy Mackerel makes some great Belgian style brews.

  3. Troy says:

When you have Alaskan, be sure to have the Pale Ale.

  4. Kyle says:

What an awesome idea. And well done I must say. I get to wonder the GABF on Friday. Cheers if I see you there.

    Hello all!
just found this site and had to share the most recent pint of gold… Toulumne Meadows IPA by Mammoth Brew Co.
    AWSOME!

  6. Dianne Ritchie says:

    Boundary Bay in Bellingham, WA
    The Imperial IPA is fantastic!

  7. John says:

Berkshire Brewing Company in Mass. Their Octoberfest is out now.

  8. Brad says:

Heavy Seas Beer (Clipper City Brewing Co. – Baltimore, MD) is smack dab in the middle of Flying Dog (Frederick, MD) and Dogfish Head (Rehobeth, DE)

Their flagship beer is Loose Cannon, a “Hop3 Ale”, which just won 2nd place at the Real Ale competition / Michael Jackson Award of the Great British Beer Festival (out of almost 100 beers)

    Definitely give them a look!

  9. Jessica Anderson Turner says:

Oh, do consider Depot Street (Jonesborough, TN). It’s a mere hour from Asheville and Highland Brewery, and I’d happily serve as guide for a chance to catch up after all these years!!! 🙂

  10. JohnKing says:

Dark Horse brewery (OH)- Scotty Karate Scoth Ale preferably

    New Albanian (IN)- Hoptimus

    Two Brothers (IL)

  11. I would recommend Kettlehouse from Missoula, MT, and their Cold Smoke Scotch Ale…I am very particular to it and it’s in cans. I could hook you up, if availability is an issue.

  12. Tom says:

I suggest some more Chicago breweries like Half Acre and Metropolitan. Also, Terrapin Brewery is suppose to be good stuff.

    1. A_Bobs says:

I agree with the Terrapin suggestion. I’ve had some really tasty brews from them.

  13. Alex Kinney says:

    Mother Earth Brewing (Kinston, NC)

  14. barleydine says:

Bavarian Barbarian and Otto’s. I can get them to you.

  15. threefrenchs says:

    Bootleggers Brewery – Fullerton, Ca.

  16. novabeerfly says:

Devil’s Backbone…they won a bunch of awards at last year’s GABF. I have not actually had any of their beers, but they are one of the few (If not only) Virginia brewerys at GABF, and I’m curious about what they have to offer (They are in Nelson County, VA, about 3.5 hours from me)

  17. Steve Curtin says:

Laurie, nothing to add… All my favorites are listed (Boulevard Single Wide IPA, Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA, and Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale). Good job!

  18. Link says:

Lucky Bucket Lager. Easily one of the best lagers brewed in the Midwest – also uses organic products in production and is one of the first breweries opened in Nebraska in more than a century. They also brew an IPA that is out of this world.
